I've been riding for 19 years.  When I was 45 and my son was big enough to ride on the back, my husband sold his 'fun' car and bought 2 motorcycles.  I got my permit and rode short distances from home, gaining more and more confidence with each ride.  That first bike was a Honda Shadow 650.

I fell in love with the BMW bikes for sport touring.  My '96 R1100RS gave me a love for long distance riding to Vermont, New York and Pennsylvania, usually for Rallies and Motocamping with like-minded riders.  Next I rode a '88 K75.  That bike took me to Tennessee, North Carolina, along the Blue Ridge Parkway and many day trips around Central Maine.  I currently ride a '21 F900XR, which I fell in love with during our first trip to Europe to ride some of the best roads in the world in several countries.  In the 2 riding seasons I've owned it, I've ridden to Virginia and West Virginia, and this fall I will attend a National Rally in Ohio.  We also own a '75 R100RS, a '94 R1100R and a '19 F750GS.

In the 39 years I taught music in public schools, I never had a summer job besides gigging on saxophone!  Now that I'm retired, I get to combine my love of teaching with my passion for riding motorcycles.  I'm still a newbie as a Rider Coach having just completed my training last June.  It's exciting to see new riders embracing safety and gaining confidence with each new skill.  I'm looking forward to hearing all the stories of why people are choosing to take a beginner riding class from LORE.
